A man renting a room in his Brooklyn home was arrested Thursday after he reportedly smeared feces on the door and bathroom of his tenant’s room.
New York City Police arrested 44-year-old Nigel Escalona, a city corrections officer, for allegedly leaving a nasty surprise for the woman who was renting a room for him.
Police said the woman saw Escalona run out of the apartment before finding feces smeared on the door frame, handle and rug in her bedroom, as well as on the door and facet of the bathroom.
Officers arrested the off-duty officer just before 9 p.m. Thursday on criminal mischief charges.
Information from Escalona’s attorney was not immediately available.
