The Livret A rate could rise again in August

Yes, you have to “expect a further increase” of the rate of A booklet in August 2022. This is François Villeroy de Galhau, Governor of the Banque de Francewho indicated this on Tuesday May 31, 2022, on the sidelines of the presentation of the annual report of the Prudential Control and Resolution Authority (ACPR), an organization backed by the Banque de France.

François Villeroy de Galhau, on the other hand, gave no indication of the extent of the increase expected on August 1, which will be the subject of a proposal from his institution in mid-July.

The Livret A rate depends in part on inflation

This announcement is hardly a surprise. The passbook A rate is indeed fixed according to interbank rates but also according to inflation.

However, it has reached record levels in recent months. For exemple, inflation in May was 5.2%a rate not seen in France since 1985.

The Livret A rate had already been revalued on February 1 last and has since been set at 1%.
