—————

3.41 p.m .: And so we say goodbye to Oberhof. At the same point tomorrow the sprint of the men will continue at 2.30 p.m.

3.38 p.m .: And now the last German has crossed the finishing line in Maren Hammerschmidt – for the time being in 46th place.

3.33 p.m .: But she has clear deficits when running. On the way towards the goal, the 30-year-old is in 36th place.

3.31 p.m .: Hammerschmidt very strong! While standing she ignites the turbo and hits all the windows.

3.20 p.m .: Maren Hammerschmidt with a mistake in prone shooting. It goes into the penalty loop – while the conditions are still bad.

3.18 p.m .: Marion Deigenteisch leaves out only one disc standing. That could be a place in the top 50.

3.13 p.m .: With Maren Hammerschmidt the last German starter is now in the race.

3:07 p.m .: Drama for Hildebrandt – the oldest German shoots a total of four mistakes.

03.03 p.m .: Herrmann only has to surrender to the Norwegian Roeiseland – that means second place for the time being.

3pm: Hinz is on target. One minute behind the leading Julia Simon.

2:56 p.m .: Denise Herrmann leaves standing shooting with a mistake in her luggage. That could be enough for a podium.

2:52 p.m .: Vanessa Hinz makes a mistake in the second shoot.

2.49 p.m .: Denise Herrmann also remains flawless when shooting in prone!

2.45 p.m .: Janina Hettich is now also on the route

2.43 p.m .: Hinz’s top performance: she makes 0 mistakes and takes the lead for now.

2.41 p.m .: And even the best German, Denise Herrmann, starts the race.

2.35 p.m .: Vanessa Hinz has started.

2:33 p.m .: The external conditions in Oberhof are not ideal: in addition to thick fog and light rain, a light breeze moves through the LOTTO Thuringia Arena.

2.30 p.m .: The competition is open. The Russian Svetlana Mironova is the first to hit the track.

2:24 p.m .: The other starting numbers of the German starters for orientation: 30th Janina Hettich, 40th Franziska Hildebrand, 66th Marion Deigentesch, 86th Maren Hammerschmidt.

2:19 p.m .: Vanessa Hinz is the first German to start with number ten. Denise Herrmann, the best German, starts as 22nd

2.10 p.m .: At the last sprint in Annecy / France, the Norwegian Tiril Eckhoff triumphed ahead of Justine Braisaz (France) and Marketa Davidova (Czech Republic).

1:46 p.m .: The big favorite for the day’s victory is Dorothea Wierer. The Italian leads the overall classification and sprint classification.

1:17 p.m .: Germany will start: Vanessa Hinz, Denise Herrmann, Janina Hettich, Franziska Hildebrand, Marion Deigentesch and Maren Hammerschmidt.

10.50 a.m .: A two-time world champion sharply criticized the young biathlon. Magdalena Neuner told the German Press Agency: “The young people are no longer willing to really give their last shirt in order to be somehow professionally successful. Some do. ”The slump in victory for the Germans was“ maybe even a social problem. ”

Thursday, December 9, 8:17 a.m .: A wonderful good morning together. In the afternoon it finally starts again! The motto for German women is: New Year, New Happiness. Denise Herrmann & Co. finally want their first victory at the Home World Cup in Oberhof.

02.06 p.m .: And there is also a failure among men. Erik Lesser, 2015 double world champion and three-time Olympic champion, was not nominated by Mark Kirchner. The DSV men’s coach is not yet satisfied with the 31-year-old’s achievements and instead sends him to the IBU Cup in Slovakia. Lucas Fratzscher joins the team for him, who is currently in first place in the IBU Cup overall ranking.

02.02 p.m .: From a German perspective, there is already sobering news before the first competition: Franziska Preuß, who could have participated in the mass start due to her World Cup placement, will miss the home World Cup despite having survived a cold and, according to trainer Florian Steirer, will only be fully operational again in Ruhpolding.

13.58 p.m .: Oberhof is the fourth stop of the Biathlon World Cup. It starts tomorrow with the women’s sprint competition, followed by the men on Friday. The relays will be on the program on Saturday and at the end the mass start will take place on Sunday for the women and then for the men.
