NYPD Seeks Suspects After Officers Assaulted in Midtown Manhattan

NEW YORK — On Tuesday, the New York City Police Department shared images of people being sought after police officers were assaulted in midtown Manhattan over the weekend.

The incident occurred on Saturday, at approximately 8:30 pm, near 220 West 42nd Street. Police officers were attempting to disperse a disorderly group when a fight broke out at the scene.

When officers attempted to take an individual into custody, several unidentified individuals repeatedly kicked and punched officers in the head and body.

The individuals then fled on foot, traveling east on West 42 Street toward 7th Avenue.

The officers suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene.

NYPD Patrol Chief John M. Chell said it could be a situation with migrants.
