Number of coronavirus deaths in China above 1600 | Interior

More than 66,000 people are now infected in China by the virus that emerged in Hubei province in December. 56,249 of those infections were in Hubei. The virus then spread rapidly across the country and around 20 other countries.

France reported the first death of the new corona virus outside of Asia on Saturday, fueling global concerns about the epidemic. Only three other deaths have been recorded outside of mainland China, in the Philippines, Hong Kong and Japan.

Several countries have banned inbound flights from China and major airlines have broken services with the country.
