Firefighters worked during the night of this Wednesday in the discovery of a nuclear densimeter in the commune of La Florida.

As far as Los Poncianos street with Metrosivero, Hazmat teams attended, which were alerted by neighbors of the presence of a yellow box left on the public highway, which had a label of radioactive.

The place was quickly cordoned off due to the alleged danger of the element, where after confirming its good condition, the presence of the element used for soil and humidity measurement was reaffirmed.

The third commander of the Ñuñoa Fire Department, Alex Miller, pointed out that the element was stolen in the afternoon by unknown persons from a construction company, who after not knowing its use, left it abandoned.

According to the investigation carried out by Firefighters, only the safety of the box that kept the nuclear hydrometer was altered, not the source that stores the radioactive element, which could have caused irreversible damage to the health of whoever had manipulated it.
