Coronavirus: here are the cities that require the wearing of masks outdoors

Prime Minister Jean Castex is going to Lille this Monday, August 3, in the company of Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin. Wearing a mask is now compulsory in several dense areas of the Lille metropolis. In recent days, more than a hundred cities in France have issued decrees imposing it on the outside.

From Monday, a mask will have to be worn in public places in 69 municipalities in Mayenne, a department where indicators “confirm the active circulation of the virus”, the Mayenne prefecture said on Saturday.

Here is the list of French cities that have decided to toughen up the rules for wearing a mask. A majority of these municipalities are located on the coast and face an influx of tourists.

Abbeville (Somme)

The mask has been made compulsory to go to the Madeleine fair which takes place until Sunday August 2, for the fireworks organized by the fairgrounds this Friday July 31 and on the Abbeville-Plage operation from 3 to August 30.

The obligation applies to people over the age of eleven.

Annecy (Haute-Savoie)

The mask was made compulsory in the city markets.

Argelès-sur-Mer (Pyrénées-Orientales)

Until August 31, the French will have to travel with a mask in the pedestrian streets of the town near the beach and in the markets.

Bagnols-sur Cèze (Gard)

During high traffic, wearing a mask is compulsory inside the city.

Bailleul (North)

Since July 25, wearing a mask is mandatory on the city market.

Bayeux (Calvados)

In the Bayeux markets, masks must be worn from this Saturday, August 1.

Bayonne (Pyrénées-Atlantique)

Wearing a mask will be compulsory from August 3 in the city center.

Beauchamp (Val-d’Oise)

The mask was made compulsory in foreign markets.

Biarritz (Pyrenees-Atlantique)

Mayor LR Maider Arosteguy has indicated that wearing a mask will be compulsory in the center and on the beach of Port-Vieux from Monday, August 3.

Biscarrosse (Landes)

From July 23 until September 1, wearing a mask is compulsory on avenue de la Plage, between rue du Touring club and boulevard des Sables. The mask is also compulsory in the city markets.

Blanquefort (Gironde)

The mask is now mandatory in the city market.

BEZIERS (Herault)

The mask is required to enter public places closed since July 20. It is also imposed in the context of outdoor events organized by the city.

Caen (Calvados)

The mask is now compulsory in the city markets.

Canet-en-Roussillon (Pyrénées-Orientales)

A municipal decree has been taken to make it compulsory to wear a mask in the pedestrian street of La Soif, the nickname of Boulevard Cassanyes. The mask is also compulsory for the Canet-Plage market.

Cannes (Alpes-Maritimes)

Since July 16, wearing a mask is mandatory in all markets.

Carpentras (vaucluse)

Wearing a mask is compulsory to go to the town market.

Cergy (Val-d’Oise)

People over 11 years old must wear a mask to access festive events. And this, until September 27.

Concarneau (Finistère)

For all people over 11 years old, the mask is compulsory from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., in all the streets of the city, the ramparts, the Petit-Château, the Place Saint-Guénolé and the Carré des Larrons .

The obligation also applies to the markets of the municipality.

Dax (Landes)

The mask is compulsory in the city’s markets from August 1.

Epinal (Vosges)

The mask is mandatory for anyone over 11 in all markets and at public gatherings.

Ermont (Val-d’Oise)

Until September 30, wearing a mask is compulsory on the Saint-Flaive market.

Evron (Mayenne)

Since July 27, the department of Mayenne has taken a decree making the mask mandatory outdoors.

This measure is applied in the area delimited by the place of the Basilica and the abbey, the rue de la Fontaine, the place Mendès-France and the rue des Près.

Gérardmer (Vosges)

The mask was made compulsory in the city markets.

Herblay (Val-d’Oise)

The mask is compulsory in foreign markets.

La Baule (Loire-Atlantique)

Since Wednesday July 22 and until August 31 inclusive, the mask is compulsory for people over 10 years old, in all the markets of the city, during their opening hours to the public and in the four shopping areas classified as zones international tourism.

La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime)

Since July 22, the mask is mandatory in the hyper-center of the city as well as the Old Port area.

Laval (Mayenne)

Since July 27, the department of Mayenne has taken a decree making the mask mandatory outdoors.

This measure concerns: the Boston Square, the station forecourt, the Plaine d’Aventure, the Europe Bridge, the Allée du Vieux-Saint-Louis, the rue du Général-de-Gaulle, the rue de Rennes, rue Rennaise, rue Charles-Landelle, the Grande rue, the Vieux Pont, the quai Sadi-Carnot, the rue de la Paix, the rue Eugène-Jamin and the rue Crossardière.

THE GRAU-DU-ROI (GARD)

Wearing a mask is compulsory for people over 10 years old, in the pedestrian zone, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., as well as during markets.

Lille (Nord)

Wearing a mask will be compulsory in public spaces from Monday, “in a certain number of areas” of the Lille metropolis.

Lorient (Brittany)

Since July 21, the city has issued a decree making it compulsory to wear a mask on all foreign markets.

Mandelieu-la-Napoule (Alpes-Maritimes)

Since May, the mask is compulsory in all the streets of the town.

Montaigu (Vendée)

On July 27, the city issued a decree requiring the wearing of masks during gatherings of more than ten people, in indoor and outdoor public places.

Nice (Alpes-Maritimes)

A municipal decree imposes the wearing of masks in all places where physical distancing cannot be respected. As well as during events organized by the town hall.

Nîmes (Gard)

Wearing a mask is compulsory for people over 11 to attend the summer event on Thursdays in Nîmes, from July 30 to September 3 inclusive.

Noirmoutier-en-Île (Vendée)

On July 17, the town issued a decree making it compulsory to wear a mask in the busiest areas of the town.

Orleans (Center-Val-de-Loire)

The inhabitants must wear from today, Friday July 31, the mask in the markets. And this until September 30th.

Wearing a mask is also compulsory on the quays of the right bank of the Loire, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Plérin (Côtes-d’Armor)

the mask is compulsory on the markets, but also especially certain tourist places like on the esplanade and the dike of the Rosaries, on the esplanade of Martin-Plage, on the dike of the Bleuets, on the quays of Légué.

Quiberon (Morbihan)

Wearing a mask is compulsory on several axes of the city: the Gare SNCF-Gare Maritime axis and the Boulevard Chanard-Gare maritime, as well as in the open-air markets.

The town has also decided to close beaches, parks and public gardens from 9 p.m. to 7 a.m., in order to avoid regrouping, particularly of young people.

Rochefort (Charente-Maritime)

Wearing a mask is compulsory in markets, flea markets and the fair.

Saint-Brieuc (Côte d’Armor)

Since July 20, the mask is mandatory in the city center. It is also compulsory in the playgrounds of municipal parks and gardens, as well as on the quays of the port of Légué.

Saint-Malo (Ille-et-Vilaine)

Tourist town, Saint-Malo requires its visitors to wear a mask in the city center. This measure will remain in force until August 30 in the city and on the ramparts.

SALLANCHES (HAUTE-SAVOIE)
