In Lengerich in NRW a 55 year old man was stabbed to death. The police and public prosecutor’s office in Münster report this.
A witness had previously called the police over the phone and reported a stabbing in an apartment in an apartment building on Schultebeyringstrasse.
NRW: Sudden knife attack in the apartment
When the officers arrived shortly afterwards, they found the lifeless body of a 55-year-old Ibben native in the apartment on the fourth floor. An emergency doctor called in could only determine the man’s death.

The police quickly identified a suspect. “We quickly received indications that a 36-year-old Lengericher had suddenly attacked the 55-year-old with a knife lying in the apartment and was fatally injured with several stings,” said investigating chief detective Joachim Poll. “The 36-year-old initially fled after the crime, then turned up at the Lengerich police station a short time later and was arrested.”
Perpetrator rang the doorbell
According to initial investigations, the victim visited the tenant of the apartment. The offender then rang the doorbell and was let into the apartment by the tenant. Then there was the fatal knife attack.
“The reason for the death of the 55-year-old was several stab wounds in the upper body,” said Chief Prosecutor Martin Botzenhardt, summarizing the autopsy result. “The stings led to massive blood loss and subsequently to the Ibbenbuerner.”
Did an argument precede the fact?
An arrest warrant and immediate custody has been issued against the 36-year-old suspect.
“The 36-year-old suspect has not yet taken part in the allegations,” said Chief Prosecutor Martin Botzenhardt. “The dispute may have been preceded by a dispute, the investigation is ongoing.” (Pen)
