NR sportsman: Paul Dittenhofer: A lively late riser

Plus

Paul Dittenhofer has been serving for the TC am Brandl for over six years. Why the 17-year-old prefers a burger to a kebab and why the forehand is his most important “weapon”.

Tennis
is without a doubt “the” great passion for sport of Paul Dittenhofer. For over six years now, the 17-year-old student has been hunting for points at his home club TC am Brandl. In 2020 he took a strong third place in the U18 age group at the Neuburg City Championships. In our series “NR-Sportkanone“Let’s introduce the native of Neuburg in a slightly different way.

Beach vacation or skiing

Dittenhofer: “I’m definitely skiing. For as long as I can remember, I’ve been on skis or go on a skiing holiday to Obertauern with my parents every year. Of course, I also like to go swimming – but skiing is simply a more unusual sport. Unfortunately, due to the corona pandemic, it is not possible this winter. “

Early risers or late risers

Dittenhofer: “Definitely a late riser. From the middle of the week I actually get into my school rhythm quite well and wake up by myself around 6:30 a.m. But on the weekend I already take advantage of the fact that I can sleep until ten o’clock. “

Order or chaos

Dittenhofer: “I’m more of a decent guy! My room is always tidy because it bothers me when things are lying around. I also prefer tidiness on my desk, as it stresses me out when studying if it’s messy. “

Book or internet

Dittenhofer: “Definitely internet (laughs). Both I and my friends tend to read very little. Especially now during Corona times or during the lockdown, we prefer to meet on the Internet to talk to each other there, stay in contact and exchange ideas accordingly. ”

Techno or Pop / Rock

Dittenhofer: “In the past, when I was twelve or 13 years old, I actually listened to pop music. In the meantime it has turned in the direction of techno, because now I’m at an age where you go to parties that mostly play techno. “

Math or english

Dittenhofer: “I would choose English. I chose the math or technology branch at my school and I find math and physics very exciting. But in the end languages like English or French are easier for me overall. ”

Burger or doner kebab

Dittenhofer: “Burger! I like both. But you get full very quickly from the doner kebab, as the meat is usually quite fatty. With a homemade burger, on the other hand, you can pay more attention to good meat quality and then top it yourself if you wish. “

Brandlbad or pond

Dittenhofer: “More like a pond! While it is usually quite full in the Brandlbad and there are always a lot of small children, you can usually swim much more undisturbed at a pond. You can also stay there longer because there are no ‘opening times’, or rather the whole thing doesn’t cost anything. “

Castle festival or folk festival

Dittenhofer: “Definitely Castle Festival – even if it is of course a shame that it is canceled in 2021! While the Neuburg Folk Festival is not really something extraordinary here in the region, the Castle Festival is definitely something very special. On the one hand, it only takes place every two years. On the other hand, you meet people there who you haven’t seen for a long time. The whole flair is just cool. “

Forehand or backhand

Dittenhofer: “I usually use the forehand to build my moves. Knowing that most tennis players also prefer the forehand, I try to play my opponent on the backhand often to give myself an advantage. I myself get more momentum and pressure on the forehand. I also think that it is easier to coordinate because I only play it with one hand – in contrast to the backhand. “

Single or double

Dittenhofer: “It has both advantages and disadvantages. I really like the individual because I have my peace and quiet and can organize the game myself. On the other hand, doubles are also very cool, because you can identify and play through certain tactics and also feel even better as a team if you have won together. “

Federer or Nadal

Dittenhofer: “Even though I’m a passionate tennis player myself, I have to admit that I rarely watch the whole thing on TV. Accordingly, I don’t know much about it. In this case, however, I would choose Roger Federer. ”
