PSV has to do without Mario Götze in the away match against FC Twente on Sunday. The star player of the team from Eindhoven is not completely fit and is replaced in the basic team by Noni Madueke.
Götze is also not on the bench in the Grolsch Veste, where PSV coach Roger Schmidt continues to stick to the same names in his line-up. His choice for Madueke on the right flank means that Mohamed Ihattaren again has a spare role.
In recent weeks, PSV has been plagued by corona cases in the selection. Apart from the longer-injured players such as Érick Gutiérrez, Marco van Ginkel and Maximiliano Romero, Schmidt has access to everyone again.
FC Twente does have infections. Queensy Menig is infected with the coronavirus and Godfried Roemeratoe is quarantined as a precaution, which means that Ramiz Zerrouki and Halil Dervisoglu are at the kick-off.
PSV plays the first game in Enschede since the death of former chairman Harry van Raaij. The club icon passed away on Monday at the age of 84. The funeral was Saturday.
FC Twente-PSV starts at 4.45 p.m. For both the number five and the number four of the Eredivisie, a victory would mean that there is a connection with the top.
Line-up FC Twente: Drommel; Ebuehi, Pleguezuelo, Pierie, Oosterwolde; Brama, Bosch, Zerrouki; Cerny, Danilo, Dervisoglu.
PSV line-up: Mvogo; Dumfries, Teze, Boscagli, Max; Madueke, Rosario, Sangaré, Gakpo; Malen, Zahavi.
