“So far, the monitoring carried out has not revealed any particular concerns about the stability of the national financial system”, underlines BAM in a covid-19 supplement to its report on financial stability, published jointly with the Supervisory Authority insurance and social welfare (ACAPS) and the Moroccan Capital Market Authority (AMMC).

The objective of the response of the public and financial authorities was, in a first step, to support the national economy during the period of confinement to reduce the losses of income and production, while ensuring the preservation of the fundamentals of the sector. financial.
On this point, the financial authorities have stepped up their coordination to monitor risk indicators and provide appropriate and proportionate responses.
In addition, BAM informs that in the phase of progressive deconfinement initiated in the second half of 2020, the authorities’ objective would be to support the productive fabric during the recovery and closely monitor the evolution of its situation, in a still context. surrounded by uncertainties about the evolution of the pandemic.
