Köstinger to North Rhine-Westphalia
Minister of Tourism Elisabeth Köstinger (ÖVP) also said that a travel warning only applies to the Gütersloh district. Köstinger said on Saturday evening on the show Image live – The right questions: “As of 00:00 today, the general travel warning for North Rhine-Westphalia will be lifted, it will only apply to the Gütersloh district.”
But the same applies to residents of the affected region around the Tönnies large-scale slaughterhouse: anyone who has a negative corona test will “be able to start their vacation in Austria”. At the meat manufacturer Tönnies in the district of Gütersloh, more than 1,500 employees had been infected with the corona virus. According to the authorities, there is now a noticeable increase in new cases outside the workforce.
The travel advice from the Federal Foreign Office in Berlin said late Sunday evening that, according to a message from the Austrian Ministry of Health, travelers from Gütersloh would have to submit a negative corona test upon arrival from Monday 00.01 a.m.
