Nine suspects have been arrested for possible involvement in a violent incident in the Groningen village of Kiel-Windeweer. In the Dorpsstraat several times a weapon was shot and stones thrown on Saturday. The police found a firearm there.
The police received a report on Saturday around 8.45 pm about a shooting incident in the Dorpsstraat. On the spot, the police arrested six suspects. Three more arrests followed later.
One of the suspects was injured in the foot in the incident. It concerns eight men from Groningen, Hoogezand and the municipality of Midden-Groningen and a woman from Delfzijl. The suspects are between 18 and 39 years old.
Officers are investigating the incident and have secured traces on the spot. A weapon has been found in the Annerveenschekanaal. The police are investigating whether that weapon was fired.
