On the Liepāja-Rucava highway at the turn to Jūrmalciems, on Sunday, August 2, a bus and car collision took place. According to initial information, nine people were injured in the collision, LETA was informed by the State Police (VP).
The accident took place around 12.30 on the Liepāja-Rucava highway at the turn to Jūrmalciems. During the investigation, the LP will try to find out the causes of the traffic accident.
A bus that had traveled on the route Klaipeda – Riga was involved in the road traffic accident.
Ilze Bukša, Head of the Communication Department of the Emergency Medical Service, confirmed to LETA that the total number of victims of the respective traffic accident is nine, of which four people were taken to a medical institution.
Two of those admitted to medical institutions have moderate injuries, and two have minor injuries. Doctors also examined other people involved in the traffic accident at the scene. In five cases, outpatient consultations were provided, but it was not necessary to take them to the hospital. A total of five medical teams were operating at the scene.
The VP informed that traffic on the road, which was originally blocked, had been restored.
