A driver of a bus falling asleep at the wheel has endangered the lives of more than 30 passengers several times, citizens report on social networks. Fearing an accident, some of the passengers got off in the middle of the road. The bus company is investigating the case and is ready to return the money to the passengers.

The bus was traveling from Sunny Beach to Sofia. The driver Vasko Stoyanov fell asleep at the wheel several times, passengers say. One of the passengers sat next to him to keep him awake with conversations.

“He said that in the morning he left at 5:45 am from Sunny Beach to Sofia, so he was there at 1 o’clock. You remember when he parks the bus, while he takes a shower, while he goes to bed and manages to fall asleep, it will take him about 2-3 hours. At 5:00 he must take the opposite course. “Somehow we succeeded, but believe me it was very difficult,” said the eyewitness.

The Union Ivkoni bus company explained to bTV that they are investigating the case. Their routine check in the same bus on the opposite course – before leaving “Sunny Beach” – found that the other driver was driving. In other words, Vasco should be rested. However, he was removed from office.
“The data are contradictory and that is why we are continuing the inspection, but I accept the signal and I want to know that each of the passengers can turn to our office to be compensated for the stress by getting their money back,” said Georgi Atanasov. manager of Union Ivkoni.
The removed driver was not available for comment.
