A sad day for Neymar! The soccer star announced via Instagram on Tuesday (November 7, 2023) that he had to cope with two bad pieces of news.
Armed men initially attacked his girlfriend’s parents in their house in the greater Sao Paulo area (Brazil). They tied up their victims, opened the safe and stole handbags, watches and jewelry.

The news portal G1 reported on the attack on Wednesday (November 8, 2023). Neymar himself wrote in his Instagram story: “First there was the attack that Bru’s parents had to go through, but luckily everyone is fine.”
The criminal police announced that a suspect had been arrested after the attack. One of the perpetrators had apparently only recently moved into the residential complex and had planned the crime with accomplices.

Neymar’s girlfriend Bruna Biancardi had announced on social media hours before the attack that she wanted to throw a surprise party for her daughter Mavie, who was born a month ago. However, she was not at her parents’ house at the time of the crime.
The police ruled out that the perpetrators actually wanted to kidnap Neymar and Biancardi’s daughter. “We have no indication that it could have been an attempted kidnapping,” the newspaper “Folha de S. Paulo” quoted the lead investigator as saying.
“Thank God everything is okay. Material things can be replaced. The most important thing is that everyone is fine,” Biancardi wrote on Instagram. “Thank God for taking care of us. Always protect my family from all evil. Amen.”
Immediately after news of the break-in, Neymar wrote: “Also, a friend of mine died. My condolences to her entire family, may God welcome Luana with open arms.” There is no further information about the deceased. (dpa/ra)
