Jānis Ābels is in charge of leading the Inspectorate for the Protection of the Rights of the Child

Jānis Ābele has won the competition for the position of the head of the State Inspectorate for the Protection of the Rights of the Child.
He previously worked on information technology projects co-financed by the European Union Structural Funds.
He also worked for the Ministry of Economy and the Central Finance and Contracts Agency.
Ābele said that his first task as the head of the inspection will be to help the employees.
He explained that the staff of the State Inspectorate for the Protection of the Rights of the Child has lacked the support of the manager in recent years and he will try to provide it.
Prosecute a case for a bribe of 135,000 euros
The Economic Crime Control Department of the State Police has sent a criminal case for embezzling a bribe of 135 thousand euros to start prosecution.
Police are asking to charge three people.

Investigators believe that a Polish company paid the Vilnius company to help arrange a license to operate a payment institution.
However, the license was not issued, but the money intended for the bribe was spent.
6 new cases of Covid-19 have been registered in Latvia
