The figures for new coronavirus cases on Wednesday mark a marked increase compared to those of the day before (archives).

The bar of 250 additional cases of coronavirus in 24 hours has been exceeded in Switzerland, the Federal Office of Public Health (OFSP) announced on Wednesday. The country has 274 new cases, as well as one additional death, bringing the total to 1,714.
Wednesday’s figures mark a clear increase compared to those of the day before (187 cases). The number of cases has not dropped below 100 since August 3. And you have to go back to mid-April to find such high numbers.
1,024 additional cases in 7 days
Over the last seven days, the total number of infections is 1024, indicates the daily newsletter of the FOPH. Per 100,000 inhabitants, the incidence rate is 13.1. Since the start of the pandemic, 37,169 cases of Covid-19 contamination have been confirmed in the laboratory out of a total of 854,885 tests carried out in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
Switzerland has twelve more hospitalizations compared to Tuesday. The number of people hospitalized since the start of the pandemic now stands at 4,404.
The country also counts 1,331 people in isolation and 4,446 individuals among their contacts have been quarantined. In addition, 18,244 other people returning from a trip from a country at risk and who also had to go through the quarantine box.
