Apparently, a group of people were gathered outside the hotel celebrating the New Year when the shooting occurred as a result of a street fight.

The police of NY received an anonymous call reporting the incident, so several agents went to the scene, where they found the three victims: two men in their 20s and one in their 40s.

One of the 20-year-olds, identified as Williams, was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, while the other young man was shot in the leg, and the 40-year-old in the torso, arms and legs, so his condition was reported as serious. Both are hospitalized.

So far the authorities have not managed to arrest the person responsible or any suspect, but the police assured that they are already investigating the incident.

The county president of Queens, Donovan Richards, lamented the fact and considered that “it was a sad and worrying way to start the New Year”.

Whoever is responsible for this heinous crime must be brought to justice quickly. It is also time for the ‘Hotel Umbrella’, which has already been cited for numerous public safety violations, to be closed, “he warned.

The official explained that the hotel is “a public nuisance that does not take place” in Queens, since various violent incidents have been reported previously, which has generated a climate of insecurity for neighbors and residents.
