New York honors Bill Cunningham with an exhibition that reviews his work and includes his mythical bicycle and his blue jacket

No one has captured the essence of the streets of New York City the way they did. Bill Cunningham. The Bostonian, known for pioneering the photography of street style, passed away last 2016 at 87 years of age, but his legacy is still present. To remember his work and honor his work in the world of fashion, the Big Apple receives this fall an exhibition that reviews its more than six decades of career.

The Times of Bill Cunningham is the name given to this exhibition in which we can discover snapshots of ordinary New Yorkers and celebrities such as Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis or Anna Wintour. The exhibition is inspired by the homonymous documentary by filmmaker Mark Bozek, narrated by Sarah Jessica Parker.

The exhibition is drawn as much more than a photographic retrospective, as it includes immersive experiences, a gallery that will highlight the relationship between the trends captured by Cunningham and the styles that we currently see on the street, unique interviews and objects that define the photographer, such as his mythical bicycle or his blue jacket.

The center South Street Seaport (26 Fulton Street) is the place where we can enjoy this experience from September 12 to October 30. The inauguration coincides with the celebration of New York Fashion Week, a precious nod to the bond of Cunningham with this celebration. The cost of entry will be $ 30 and will be required proof of vaccination to be able to enter.
