A New York Fire Department captain was arrested for allegedly receiving drugs by parcel at his home north of the city.
Following a joint investigation between the New York police, Homeland Security and the United States Postal Inspection Service, a search warrant was issued at the home of Muhammad S. Iftikhar in Goshen, Orange County, and his subsequent arrest on February 8.
Iftikhar, 43, is a captain in the department of Engine Co. 282which serves a largely Orthodox Jewish neighborhood in Borough Park, Brooklyn, and was on the promotion list, reported the New York Post.
At his home, investigators found and seized more than 50 grams of anabolic steroids and more than 20 grams of ecstasy or MDMAdetailed the State Police (NYSP).
“It was a six-month investigation,” said spokesman Beau Duffy.

During the operation at the home, María Younis, 39, was also arrested.
Iftikhar was charged with felony criminal possession of a controlled substance (hallucinogenic) with the intent to market it. He was tried in Goshen court and released on his own recognizance.
The fire department suspended them for a month without pay.
Muhammad S. Iftikhar was promoted to lieutenant in 2013 and became a captain in 2018, according to public records. In 2021 his income was $218,000, according to SeeThroughNY.
