Russia pulls troops to Ukraine

More than 550 military tents and hundreds of pieces of equipment have been placed at an abandoned airfield in Crimea. New troops were also noticed in other parts of the peninsula.

Russian troops and military equipment continue to arrive in the annexed Crimea and Belarus, where the active phase of “allied” exercises began yesterday. New satellite images on the evening of Thursday, February 10, were published by Buzzfeed correspondent Christopher Miller in Twitter.

The photo shows Russian troops arriving at the Oktyabrsky airfield in Crimea.

“In Crimea, on February 10, a large new deployment of troops and equipment was observed at the Oktyabrskoye airfield. More than 550 military tents and hundreds of pieces of equipment arrived at this abandoned airfield north of Simferopol,” the journalist wrote.

New troops were noticed near Novoozernoye and in Glorious occupied Crimea. The photographs, in particular, show multiple rocket launchers and newly arrived armored vehicles.

In addition, Russia deployed a combat group to Rechitsa (Belarus), 45 km from the border with Ukraine.

In Western Russia, a large contingent of troops recently arrived at the Kursk training ground, 110 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

“Additional equipment continues to arrive,” Miller wrote, adding that preparations were underway to accommodate additional troops and forces.
