Ukrainians liable for military service abroad who have not registered for military service may have their consular and banking services limited, a deputy of the Ukrainian Parliament said.
The Ministry of Defense, the General Staff and deputies of the Verkhovna Rada are developing new measures regarding the military registration of Ukrainians abroad.
As he said in an interview “Freedom. Morning“Deputy Vadim Ivchenko, member of the Rada Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, the authorities are considering an option in which Ukrainians liable for military service abroad who have not registered for military service may have their consular and banking services limited.
He noted that these measures are necessary in order to increase the level of responsibility of Ukrainian citizens liable for military service.
If a person liable for military service does not register for military service within the established period, he may be brought to administrative responsibility. The innovation may affect Ukrainians who have an expired passport: no one will provide them with a new one. Restrictive measures may affect the provision of banking services.
It is worth noting that Ukraine continues to be at war with Russia. In this regard, the country’s authorities are taking measures to increase the combat readiness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
