From the 2024/25 academic year, medical study places will be dedicated to specialist areas in the public interest. This means that medical professionals can be used in a variety of ways in the future.
Vienna (OTS) – In order to ensure high-quality health care in Austria in the long term, the federal government, the states and the ÖGK have agreed on the implementation of an important health policy measure: The federal states, the ÖGK, the BMI and the BMLV will in future have the opportunity to offer special study places in the to devote public interest to selected candidates. The condition for this is that after successfully completing your studies you work in the respective federal state or for the respective institution. The implementation should take place with appropriately high-quality support from the medical universities.
In an online background discussion with representatives of the BMBWF, the BMLV, the Carinthian Health Fund and the Austrian Health Insurance Fund, media representatives have the opportunity to gain a detailed overview of the initiative.
