New Dacia Sandero: Much more modern, but still very cheap

The Romanian brand has released new information about the upcoming generation of Sandero, Logan and Sandero Stepway cars.

While the earlier generations of the Dacia Sandero were built on platforms from previous generations of the Clio, the newcomer will receive the latest technology from the French carmaker Renault. Specifically, the same platform on which the current Clio or, for example, Captur go.

Compared to the current car, the new Sandero will be 19 millimeters longer, which means it measures exactly 4,088 millimeters. An even more significant increase in dimensions occurred in the width parameter. The car now reaches 1848 millimeters without mirrors.

It is also gratifying to increase the luggage compartment by 18 liters. Therefore, items with a volume of 328 liters can now be loaded into the space under the rear lid.

The quality of the interior has significantly improved. The solution of infotainment is interesting. In the basic version, no touch screen will be installed, but a connector for attaching a mobile phone will be prepared. There will be an eight-inch display in the next two trim levels.

The published pictures also show the use of textiles on the middle part of the dashboard.

Under the hood will be one of the three engines on offer. The basic liter of atmospheric “petrol” has an output of only 64 hp. Probably more applicants will choose a one-liter supercharged three-cylinder Tce 90. The third option will be the Tce 100, which allows the combustion of both gasoline and LPG.

Immediately with the deliveries of the classic Sander, Dacia will also start selling the Stepway version. It has a chassis increased by 41 to a total of 174 millimeters and a number of “off-road” accessories on the body. As standard, this car will ride 16-inch wheels.

And the price? It has not been published yet. However, Dacia officials promise that it will still be an unbeatable offering in this segment of passenger cars.

At the same time, the brand also declassified a number of information about the Logan sedan. According to a press release, the space for the rear passengers has increased by 42 millimeters, which is more than the length of the entire car (+36 millimeters). The car has an eighteen liters more luggage space and now reaches 528 liters. In addition, it can be divided into four different scooters using partitions.

With the new generation, the option of additional equipment has also increased. For example, for the first time ever, these cars offer an openable sunroof. The car can also be equipped with automatic air conditioning, heated seats, parking sensors front and rear, electric parking brake, parking camera and other elements.

For example, a blind spot warning of a vehicle will now appear among the safety assistance systems. In addition to the five- and six-speed manual transmissions, customers will also be able to choose an automatic continuously variable transmission (CVT).
