Netflix Confirms Focus on Season 2 Production of ‘Squid Game’ Despite Reports of Seasons 2 and 3 Being Produced at Once

In response to reports that seasons 2 and 3 of the original series ‘Squid Game’ will be produced at the same time, Netflix announced its position that it is concentrating on producing ‘Season 2’. On the 16th, a Netflix official said, “The production team of ‘Squid Game’ is currently working hard to prepare for Season 2 in order to create a work that brings joy to fans.” added.

Earlier on the same day, a media outlet reported that “Squid Game” will produce Seasons 2 and 3 of 13 episodes at the same time. Regarding this, Netflix said that they are concentrating on producing season 2.

Meanwhile, ‘Squid Game’ season 1, which was released in September 2021, tells the story of people who participated in a mysterious survival with a prize of 45.6 billion won, risking their lives to become the final winner and challenging an extreme game.

‘Squid Game’ is a drama series starring Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Park Hae-soo, Heo Seong-tae, and Jeong Ho-yeon. In particular, it was the first Korean drama to win the Bonsang at the Primetime Emmy Awards.
