Jakarta – Barcelona is reportedly set to acquire Marcus Rashford from Manchester United on loan, with an option for a permanent transfer. Sources indicate that Barcelona has successfully negotiated a reduced price for the permanent acquisition of Rashford.
Both Barcelona and Manchester United have reached an agreement for Rashford’s loan. The 27-year-old striker is expected to join Barcelona for one season, with an option to extend his stay for another year.
Rashford himself has expressed a desire to move to Barcelona and is reportedly willing to accept a salary reduction to fit within the Catalan club’s financial framework.
According to Marca, the redemption option for Rashford is estimated to be between 30 million and 35 million euros (approximately $32 million to $38 million USD). While the exact figure is still under discussion, it is expected to fall within this range.
This price is significantly lower than initial estimates, which suggested Manchester United might seek around 50 million euros for the player. The figure is considered reasonable given Rashford’s contract with manchester United extends until 2028.
For barcelona, Rashford represents a viable option after their attempts to sign Nico Williams and Luis Diaz were unsuccessful. The financial demands for acquiring Williams and Diaz proved too ample for the club, which is still recovering from financial difficulties.
