Vecino meets again with Maurizio Sarri, the Lazio coach who catapulted his career when he directed Empoli in the 2014-15 season and the Uruguayan arrived on loan from Fiorentina.

After that season, Vecino continued to progress back to La Fiore until his transfer to Inter in 2017. With the ‘nerazzurra’ shirt he has played 126 games, scored 13 goals and won the Serie A in 2021 and the Coppa and Supercoppa in 2022.

His career at Inter was marked by a meniscus injury that kept him off the pitch for almost 200 days during the 2020-21 season. Vecino arrived in Italy in 2013 with Fiorentina and before Emoli he was also on loan at Cagliari.

Fifth reinforcement of Lazio

Vecino is the fifth signing of Lazio after the Portuguese goalkeeper Luis Maximiano (Granada), the Brazilian midfielder Marcos Antonio (Shakhtar Donetsk) three central defenders, the Italians Alessio Romagnoli (Milan), Nicolò Casale (Verona) and the Spanish Mario Gila (RM Castilla ).
