As a result of attacks by militants, since January 16, 47 Syrian soldiers and 51 civilians have died, Major General Yuri Borenkov, head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria, told reporters. 77 servicemen and 116 civilians were injured.
According to Mr. Borenkov, the militants began to actively use full-time ammunition and weapons of NATO countries. Previously, they mainly used handicraft weapons, he added.
