Naturgy workers walk to Santiago to denounce the closure of the A Coruña center | Radio Coruña

The Naturgy Operations Center workers start this morning a walk-protest to Santiago de Compostela to report the transfer of their jobs. The energy company has decided to move this center to Madrid and with it the 28 jobs. On Wednesday they will arrive in Santiago, where they have organized a mobilization. The Xunta de Galicia has already told the company, the owner of what was once Fenosa, that it does not agree with the transfer.

The North Network Operations Center provides service to all of Galicia, its workers are in charge, among other things, of attending to consumers who call to solve faults. The Second Vice President and Minister of Economy, Francisco Conde, ensures that the Xunta has expressed its disagreement with this decision to relocate jobs.

The councilor has insisted that the Xunta “does not agree” and has stressed that this has been exposed to the company. “We have told him that this commitment to Galicia has to be linked not only to a quality service and a guarantee of supply and associated investments, but also to this commitment to employment.”

In this demand, he has placed the situation in the center of A Coruña, while he has described as a “priority” to address the Meirama reindustrialization plan linked to the closure of the plant.

Regarding the first, he has also asked that “Naturgy’s commitment to Galicia be confirmed in concrete terms”, while he has appealed to reach an agreement between the company and the workers at the open negotiation table.

In 2000, Naturgy had seven facilities of this type spread throughout Spain, of which only the one located in Galicia remains outside Madrid. 28 employees who now see how the move to Madrid is not negotiable

This center is in charge of coordinating the company’s response to blackouts.
