Name noted for violation of corona measures, repeated penalties will follow | NOW

After a warning for violating the corona measures, a fine will immediately follow. Hubert Bruls, chairman of the Security Council, said this Monday evening after the meeting between the 25 chairpersons of the security regions. This means that the name of the offender is also written down when a warning is given, so that a fine can be issued immediately next time.

It has been agreed within the Security Council to enforce stricter corona measures. Minister Ferd Grapperhaus (Justice and Security) was also present at the meeting, as were representatives of the police and the Public Prosecution Service (OM).

“In the first place, we will continue to provide information, but we will enforce more quickly”, says Bruls. The emphasis will be on the alcohol ban after 8 p.m. and the maximum of four people with whom you are allowed to go out on the street.

“When a group of five people walks around in the street, they are warned and we note the names,” explains Bruls. “If you walk around again next week, we will not warn you again, but you will be fined right away.”

Immediate fine for deliberate violation

If it is abundantly clear that the corona measures are being deliberately violated, a warning will even be issued and enforcers will immediately issue a fine.

The intention is that corona measures are enforced in each region, so that there are no differences between different parts of the country.

Minister Grapperhaus expressed the hope that stricter enforcement will not lead to more fines. “If enforcers hand out more fines, you can say: ‘Good, enforcement is being tougher’, but I really hope that we all understand that it is all about putting our teeth together and holding our breath. Let’s all do that together. , then it really gets better. “
