Accustomed to dangerous criminals, the NYPD has come across a peculiar case: an alleged shoe-stripper of young women, who has stolen just one of their shoes.
The New York police released images of the alleged fetishist, in search of his identification and capture, after the complaint of at least three women victims of the strange case.
The shoe thief approached the women randomly in the trio of attacks in Brooklyn and Queens dating from January to last week, police said.
The first case occurred on January 24, when around 9 a.m. the thief followed a 24-year-old woman into a building at 739 Utica Avenue in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, where he removed her right shoe, police said.
On February 9, around 11 am, the thief struck a second time in Brooklyn, taking a Nike sneaker from the left foot of a 24-year-old woman in the Grand Army Metro station in Park Slope.
That victim told police at the time that the man removed the Nike shoe, valued at $40, directly from her foot. He added that there was no interaction with the suspect before he snagged the shoe. After that robbery, he fled to the train station, jumped the turnstile and got on board a car, he said. New York Post.
After a long pause, last week, on May 24 at around 12:15 pm, the suspect attacked again when he snatched the left shoe of a 24-year-old woman inside the shopping plaza. Rego Center en 96-05 Queens Boulevardin the neighborhood at Rego Park.
