Oberaurach (dpa / lby) – their idea of traveling through the country with tractor concerts is now taking the Franconian band Dorfrocker to South America. The brothers Philipp, Tobias and Markus Thomann are giving concerts in Entre Rios in southern Brazil next weekend, as Markus Thomann told the German Press Agency. A tractor parade with more than 1500 machines is planned there, after which they will perform there.
Because there have been hardly any concerts, no folk festivals and no church consecrations since the beginning of 2020 because of the corona pandemic, the village rockers have found a niche – and organized tractor concerts all summer and autumn in 2021. The audience travels with their own tractor, parks it and can listen to the concert, as Thomann described. 20,000 tractors drove up to more than 100 concerts in German-speaking countries.
The village rockers were nominated for the music award “Echo” (2017), albums made it into the top 10 of the German album charts: In 2018, “Hallo alle Mann” climbed to ninth place, the album “Holz” reached rank in 2015 four. They appear regularly on television shows.
