Asin entered the film world with the Malayalam movie ‘Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka’ released in 2001 and directed by Sathyan Anthikad. This movie was released in 2001. Asin went from Malayalam to Telugu. She won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her performance in Telugu debut film ‘Amma Nanna O Tamil Ammai’.
Asin went from Telugu to Tamil cinema and from there to Bollywood. The first film in Tamil ‘M. Kumaran was son of Mahalakshmi’. Az won the Filmfare Award for Best Newcomer for this film. Later, Asin won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress for her role in the Tamil film Ghajini. Asin then acted in a handful of excellent films.
