Sonya Yoncheva – our most famous and respected opera singer now, will perform tonight in front of a huge audience in Sofia for a big concert. Next to it on the stage, specially built in front of the church-monument “St. Alexander Nevsky ”, will be one of the greatest tenors – Placido Domingo.

The performance “Gala in Sofia” is considered one of the biggest musical events in the world. All hotels in the center of the capital have been occupied by European music lovers for days. “I am in Sofia for the second time and I am very happy, because on August 31 I will appear on the stage in front of one of the largest Orthodox cathedrals in Europe. When I first visited Bulgaria a few years ago with my wife Martha, we wanted to see the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and we were impressed. Over the years I have had the good fortune to partner with great Bulgarian singers such as Gena Dimitrova, Raina Kabaivanska, Krassimira Stoyanova, Nikolay Gyaurov, Nikola Gyuzelev. Tomorrow I will be on the stage next to an exceptional singer like Sonya Yoncheva, who won the “Operalia” competition years ago. I created this competition to give way to young people. Due to the construction of the stage in the center of Sofia, restrictions were imposed on traffic and parking in the area on August 29. The concert starts at 8 pm, but the audience will be missed from 6 pm to avoid crowding. At the entrances

During the intermission between the two parts of the concert, the spectators must restrict the movement between the different sectors.
