Music – Bremen – Jingle Bell Rock: Eleven year old Mika Mai jazzes with Corinna May – culture

Bremen / Rockenberg (dpa / lhe) – The eleven year old Mika Mai is autistic and visually impaired, but above all: musically gifted and experienced on stage. The boy, who comes from Rockenberg in the Wetterau district, plays the piano, drums, guitar and other instruments and he also sings. For his musical advent calendar, he approached artists, including the blind singer Corinna May, who had entered the 2002 Eurovision Song Contest for Germany with the song “I Can’t Live Without Music”. Mika, his parents Minou and Max and Corinna May quickly found each other. The musical result – a “Jazz-Light-Mix” of Christmas classics like “Let it Snow!” and “Jingle Bell Rock” – can be heard and seen from Monday “behind” the digital Advent door number 14.
