The branch of study trombone optionally offers training on the tenor trombone and / or the bass trombone. Lessons on secondary instruments such as alto trombone, bass trumpet and tenor tuba, frequent performance opportunities, orchestral productions and innovative projects, from live electronics to interdisciplinary performance, complement the course as well as workshops, practice auditions / competitions with feedback, master classes and seminars on various current topics.

The field of study Instrumental and vocal pedagogy (IGP) combines a comprehensive artistic education at the trombone with the development of educational mediation and communication skills. The development of practical teaching skills is given by the cooperating music schools of the City of Vienna, as well as by the support of the MUK teachers and helps the students to develop themselves capable teachers acting independently according to their own pedagogically valuable convictions.
