Much of the delta infection can be traced back to one journey

Gene analyzes from FHI shed light on how the fourth virus wave started, writes Aftenposten.

747 of the 1,870 delta samples that NIPH has analyzed, 40 percent, can be traced back to this import case, according to the report.

It is not known whether it was a lone traveler or a travel companion who brought the delta variant with them, but the analysis shows that the infection came to Norway in April. Then it spread in Viken and Oslo.

Researchers at FHI can not point out which country the travelers came from, but that it is similar to viruses from Central and South Asia.
