Moving farewell to actor Jan Fedder

Hamburg says goodbye: In a moving funeral service, family, friends and fans say goodbye to actors in Michel on Tuesday Jan Fedder taken.

Numerous celebrities came to the celebration in the landmark of the Hanseatic city, including TV chef Tim Mälzer, the singers Klaus Meine and H.P. Baxxter, the actors Uschi Glas, Michaela May, Heinz Hoenig, Claude-Oliver Rudolph and Axel Milberg.

Colleagues from the television series “Grossstadtrevier”, “Neues aus Büttenwarder” and from the film “Das Boot” also paid homage to the former companion.

Pastor praises the actor’s “big heart”

Pastor Alexander Röder praised Jan Fedder’s “big heart and his sense of justice”. “Jan Fedder was a popular figure in his roles precisely because he was not flawless and did not speak smoothly and polished,” said Röder. “He went with a great folk actor who was not only popular, but was loved and will be loved beyond his death.”

ARD program director Volker Herres said: “Jan was unique. His authenticity, his credibility – that is the secret of his outstanding popularity.”

Moving farewell words from Jan Fedder’s wife

Jan Fedder’s wife Marion said goodbye to her husband in moving words: “My beloved Jan, this is the hardest walk I have ever had to do. You were my family, my husband, my rock, my closest confidante, my everything,” said she.

“There will never be someone like you again. (…) Here at Michel we married 20 years ago. It hurts me immeasurably that I have to bury you here today.” His place in her heart will be filled with love forever.

“Now I have to send you on your last journey, once more on the Reeperbahn – that is what you wanted – and then it means sleeping for a long, long time. Finally rest and dream of all the beautiful things that you have experienced. My dear Jan, sleep well. ” There was applause at the end of her speech at Michel.

Fedder had wished for a funeral service at the Michel. Here he was baptized, confirmed and married. The popular actor, who died on December 30 after a long illness, would have turned 65 on Tuesday.

Via the Reeperbahn to the afterlife

With his distinctive voice and accent, he had made North German characters his trademark – as policeman Dirk Matthies in the “Grossstadtrevier” and as Bauer Brakelmann in the series “Neues aus Büttenwarder”. He also shot four Siegfried Lenz films.

The North German Broadcasting Corporation (NDR) broadcast the funeral service live on television and had set up a large screen for the fans in front of the church.
