A press release from Me Gilles Gauer, one of the lawyers of Laeticia Hallyday, has just broken the appeasement that there was between the widow of the rocker and Laura Smet. We can read that the musician who died at the age of 74 “had asked to rest in the Lorient marine cemetery in Saint-Barthélemy, in a cellar to be built”.
This exhumation is today becoming an “absolute emergency” according to Gilles Gauer since, as he explains by quoting the gravedigger from the Lorient cemetery, the coffin of Johnny Hallyday is in great danger. Attacked by “sea sand, very aggressive and very corrosive” and by “large earth crabs”, the wood of the star’s coffin could be altered “significantly”.
It was a letter from the gravedigger in the cemetery received by Laeticia Hallyday on December 18 that prompted the widow to respond. In the name of “respect for Johnny’s will” and “the imperative of protecting the dignity of his burial and his body”, Me Gauer wishes to speed things up, while Laura Smet had stopped everything: “He To date, there is a legal obligation and an ethical urgency for this displacement to be authorized and accomplished without delay ”. This press release which suggests that work around the grave of Johnny Hallyday could very quickly resume have obviously reacted Laura Smet.
“I am shocked”
On Instagram, the 36-year-old actress published a long text accompanied by a photo of Johnny Hallyday which also serves as a message. In this old photo, the singer poses with a pigeon on his shoulder. A way for Laura Smet to say that she no longer wants to be taken for a pigeon? His long message makes him think: “I am shocked by the press release from Maître Gauer. Since the painful death of my father, I have unfortunately never been consulted on the question of his burial, Laeticia having made only the choice of the current burial of which she knew the conditions perfectly … “
Laura Smet then recalls that she discovered her mother-in-law’s plans “in the press last summer” and adds that she immediately agreed “on the principle of exhumation if all the heirs define together the details of this exhumation ”. A condition that has obviously never been respected: “My blood flows in this vault and this subject is so intimate, personal and priority. To date, other than vague information, no specific details have been given to me on this exhumation. “
Laura Smet concluded her message with a final attack: “Grieving when you have been prevented from seeing your father in the last moments is a terrible thing that I will never get over. Imagining his father unearthed in improvisation would be another affront to his memory. I cannot do it and I will not be instrumentalized. “
