According to her own statements, she is involved in the case of a missing nine-year-old girl: the French serial killer Michel Fourniret. (Archive picture)

Michel Fourniret (77) was charged in November with the disappearance of Estelle Mouzin for “kidnapping and deprivation of liberty resulting in death”. A few days earlier, ex-wife Fournirets, Monique Olivier, had revoked her husband’s alibi.

Fourniret had long assured that it had nothing to do with the Estelle Mouzin case. She had disappeared from school on January 9, 2003 in Guermantes in the Paris area. Her body was never found, and numerous traces investigated by the investigators led to nothing.

Ex-wife covered serial killer
The police first investigated Fourniret in 2006 after a photo of her was found on his computer. In addition, a white delivery van was seen at the kidnapping site that resembled the Fournirets van. But Fourniret was exonerated in 2007. When examining thousands of hairs from the Fournirets car, no DNA traces of the girl were found six years later.

Speculation about his involvement was revived by a Fourniret hearing in 2018 that involved two other murders in 1988 and 1990. At the time, Fourniret testified that the disappearance of Estelle Mouzin was an issue that needed to be investigated and indicated that he felt “sick” about the matter.

Fourniret is serving a life sentence in France. After judgments in 2018 and 2008, he raped and murdered at least eight women and girls. His ex-wife helped him “hunt for virgins” and was also sentenced to life imprisonment. (SDA)
