Minsa distributes more than 2.5 million doses of the covid-19 vaccine in Lima | News

To continue the covid-19 vaccination process and disease prevention campaigns, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) is distributing a total of 2,502,000 doses of vaccines to Metropolitan Lima’s Integrated Health Networks (Diris) Directorates.

These are 2,275,000 doses of the Moderna laboratory vaccine and 227,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

The head of the health sector personally supervised the transfer of vaccines and also verified the distribution of tests to rule out yellow fever, malaria and dengue sent to different regions of the country.

“Today, yellow fever vaccines, human rabies vaccines, as well as tests to rule out dengue and malaria have been distributed to regions that need them today and thus avoid an increase in these cases,” said the Minister Kelly Portalatino recalling that programming vaccines improves the immune system.

In turn, he stressed that one of the pillars of his management will be to promote prevention and health promotion to control the disease epidemic.

“We are aware that we must now focus on prevention and promotion because we do not want to reach the fifth wave, so we must continue to improve healthy eating, by continuing to monitor our hypertensive patients with diabetes, to prevent the increase of these cases.” She added.

This major expedition will be deployed according to the schedule prepared by Minsa’s immunization strategy and its plan to fill vaccination gaps.

“These doses go to all the Diris of Metropolitan Lima because that has been our commitment to reach the goal of reaching 100% in the application of the third dose against covid-19 and the other commitment of the directors of the Diris to achieve 30% in the fourth dose “, he concluded.
