At least one new contract for the purchase of a batch of vaccines will be signed by the end of this week.

This week, Ukraine will sign a major contract for the supply of the coronavirus vaccine. This was announced on Monday, April 5, by the Minister of Health of Ukraine Maxim Stepanov on the air of the Ukraine 24 channel.

“A contract will be signed this week. One hundred percent. This will be a fairly large number of vaccines. The whole supply will be this year,” the minister said.

He also added that it was planned to receive the remainder of the batch of Covishield vaccine from India by March 31, but the delivery is delayed due to a temporary ban on the import of the drug from the country.

Also, according to the minister, Ukraine expects the first batch of coronavirus vaccines through the COVAX mechanism.

“According to the latest official reports from COVAX, we expect 367 thousand AstraZeneca from South KoreaWe also expect 117,000 doses of Pfizer. These are the coming deliveries. By the end of May, they should receive at least 1.7 million vaccines, “he added.

Stepanov noted that part of the doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine from South Korea will be reserved for the second vaccination for those who were vaccinated with the Covishield drug.

Recall that the day before 1.2 thousand people were vaccinated in Ukraine… Over the past day, not a single person has been vaccinated in three regions. The number of COVID injections made compared to the previous day decreased by 2.6 thousand.
