Friday, March 11, 3 p.m. Rue du Stade, in front of the nursing office in Milly-sur-Thérain, a utility room, full to bursting. Indoors, 5m3 first aid materials. Everything will be sent to a Ukrainian military hospital, via the French-Ukrainian charitable medical aid association.
We owe this collection to Aurore Camus. The liberal nurse of the cabinet relayed on social networks the call of a doctor currently in the war zone.
In a few days, bandages, compresses, antiseptics, analgesics, anti-inflammatories, orthoses, crutches flocked to the office. So many materials that were sleeping in private homes. “People have been great”, greet the nurse.
Before shipping, a huge amount of work had to be done to check expiry dates and packaging. “We spent 9 hours sorting it out with my family and friends. We finished in the night from Thursday to Friday, at 3 o’clock in the morning”.
Shortly after 3 p.m., the fruit of the collection left Milly, direction l’Ukraine.
Tired but smiling, Aurore Camus considers herself a link in a chain. She wants to involve donors, her friends and loved ones in this great outpouring of solidarity.
