Discovery Life Sciences (TM) (Discovery), the Biospecimen and Biomarker Specialists (TM), announced today that Mike Musgnug has joined the company as Chief Revenue Officer, reporting to CEO Glenn Bilawsky. In this new role, Musgnug will lead strategic and tactical planning to accelerate Discovery’s revenue growth by increasing market acceptance of the company’s products and services while identifying and developing new geographic, product and service lines. He will also lead the design and implementation of the company’s sales, marketing and advertising strategies, organizational structures and resource plans. He also advises on the company’s global acquisition, sales and corporate development strategy.

Prior to Discovery, Musgnug was vice president and general manager of the biotechnology business unit for Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, a Danaher company. In this role, he was responsible for strategy, marketing, operations and supply chains for four product lines totaling over $ 1 billion. Before that, he worked at Cepheid and Alere in international segments and on a global level with increasing responsibility in sales and marketing management. He was also on the board of TechLab, a diagnostics company acquired by Pharos Capital. Musgnug earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in life sciences / biotechnology and business administration.
