Microsoft ve report on economic results reported that in the third financial quarter, net profit increased by 27 percent year-on-year to $22.3 billion (CZK 518 billion). Evidently, the latest Xbox Series S, which had its sales premiere at the end of September, also played a part in this.
The report shows that the demand for devices from Microsoft increased by 22% in the monitored period. However, the American software giant does not provide exact sales figures for consoles, although computers from Microsoft, for example, are also represented in this category.
However, the increased interest in Xbox is also evidenced by the content and services category, which deals purely with this gaming platform. It grew by 13% year-on-year.

Price differences
So far, the last generation of consoles from Microsoft premiered before Christmas in 2020, it was the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. The first mentioned variant received an improvement this year. It is newly released in black instead of white. Another change is the storage capacity, which has increased from 512 GB to 1 TB. In practice, up to twice as many games should fit on the console disc.
However, potential buyers will have to pay extra for the black version, it will work out according to the shopping guide Zboží.cz to 8164 CZK. The original, white version with a smaller storage area remains in the offer, prices start at CZK 6,889. For comparison: Xbox Series X will cost 11,933 CZK.

What can both Xboxes do?
The heart of the Xbox Series X console is an eight-core processor from the AMD workshop with Zen 2 architecture, which can heat up to 3.8 GHz. It will be a chip with 16 threads. An integral part of the entire chipset is also an integrated graphics chip built on the AMD RDNA 2 architecture, which offers a frequency of up to 1.825 GHz. In practice, the graphics should thus be roughly 20 percent more powerful than the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT.
There is also 16 GB of GDDR6 memory, which is divided into two parts, namely faster and slower. 10 GB will offer a throughput of 560 GB/s, the remaining 6 GB only 336 GB/s. Underlined, added up – Xbox Series X will offer 12 TFLOPS of performance.
Potential applicants can also count on very fast storage. Specifically, the Xbox Series X is equipped with a 1 TB NVMe SSD. In addition, the manufacturer has also dealt interestingly with possible expandability, because the console will use a special proprietary 1TB SSD from Seagate, which will be connected using a special connector to maintain the highest possible transfer speed.
The Xbox Series S has the same heart but stripped down performance. In practice, the smaller model should have enough power to play in 1440p resolution, at up to 120 frames per second. Likewise, the console offers enough system resources to convert games from Full HD to 4K resolution (upscaling). However, the Series X console is more likely to be built for full-fledged gaming in 4K.
