When an April Fool’s joke turns into reality. Microsoft is starting to sell an Xbox-shaped refrigerator

When Microsoft first unveiled a console design Xbox Series X, a lot of funny reactions appeared on the Internet, comparing the new console to the refrigerator. And because Microsoft has happy heads, the company used this analogy in promotional materials, in which they put the refrigerator and the new Xbox side by side to see a clear difference in size.

Several life-size Xbox refrigerators have even been made; they were over 180 cm tall, weighed 181 kg and were decorated on the front with a glowing Xbox logo.

When opened, the refrigerator turned green and played the melody the real console plays when it starts up. Rapper Snoop Dogg also won one of these large refrigerators, and another competition was organized for another of them.

Promises are to be fulfilled

But that’s not the end of Xbox’s refrigerator story. A competition was held on Twitter this April #BestOfTweets Brand Bracket, with the Xbox and Skittles brands making it to the finals. And because Xbox Marketing Director Aaron Greenberg wanted to win the battle, he promised that if the Xbox won, they would start producing mini refrigerators in the same design at Microsoft.

You probably know how it turned out. The Xbox brand really won the tight final with a share of 50.5%. Microsoft accepted the win with honor and decided to keep its promise; the very next day after the vote, he promised the arrival of his mini fridge before this year’s christmas holidays. And with the Christmas holidays fast approaching, sales of Microsoft’s new mini-refrigerator are knocking on the door.

The Xbox as a refrigerator goes on sale

Microsoft announced last week that it was ready to launch a pre-sale. This will happen tomorrow, October 19, in America, Great Britain and Europe, where it is first to be available in France, Germany, Italy, Ireland, Spain, the Netherlands and Poland, and sales will expand next year. to other countries (after approval by regulatory authorities).
