Microsoft’s antivirus is expanding to new platforms

Although Microsoft is no longer designing smartphones, it continues to develop services for both Android and Mac, and it now appears that Windows Defender antivirus software is finding its way onto other platforms called Microsoft Defender – reported about it in PCWorld.

The description of the Microsoft Defender Preview available from the Microsoft Store says that it guarantees security not only on Windows, but also on Apple’s platforms and Android. The version may have been in the store for a while now, and a leaker recently posted screenshots of what the Android version of Defender looks like. He says the security software for Apple products isn’t just for iOS, it’s just for Macs.

The move isn’t so surprising given that Microsoft has already made several of its services available on other platforms: Bing, Microsoft Edge and Office apps can be used on Android, and Office has also been ported to Mac.
