Microsoft launched a version of teams for end users at the end of the year

March 31, 2020 –
Microsoft has announced a consumer version of the communication tools team for the end of the year. Skype will still be available.

At an event, Microsoft announced that it would launch a consumer version of teams later this year. Like “Techcrunch” reported, you want to address families and groups, organize events or just want to communicate with each other via chat or video conference. Microsoft is thus competing with its own tool Skype, which is still used by around 100 million people every month. This is also why Yusuf Mehdi, Corporate Vice President for Modern Life, Search and Devices at Microsoft, emphasized to “Techcrunch” that Skype will continue to be supported.

Microsoft had apparently also thought of renaming the consumer version of teams in order to differentiate them more clearly from the enterprise version, but the decision was made to retain the already known brand teams. It makes perfect sense for Microsoft to try to combine the business and private worlds in one tool, because users can then work with the same tools in both worlds without having to change every time.
