The company discloses information about GDDR6X memory found on NVIDIA Ampere cards.

NVIDIA has set us an appointment at the end of the month to discover its Ampere graphics cards via hashtags #theultimatecountdown. But a technical note published by Micron already gives some indications on future models.

In a table comparing different memory solutions, Micron lists the RTX 3090 in the GDDR6X column. We thus discover that the card embeds 12 GB of GDDR6X memory thanks to 12 chips on a 384-bit bus. This GDDR6X memory achieves transfer speeds of between 19 and 21 Gbps. Thus, the memory bandwidth is between 912 and 1008 GB / s.

In addition, Micron is counting on 2 GB GDDR6X chips with a bandwidth of 24 Gbit / s from 2021.
